Every year more than a million Kiwis volunteer in our community. Unsung Heroes features over 18 organisations including the Maori Wardens, St Johns paramedics, The Auckland City Mission, The SPCA and Wellington Night Shelter.

Previously a 1 x 60 documentary was filmed on Bea Yates known as Aunty Bea in "Busy as Aunty Bea", who demonstrated her tireless love for others, in the kitchen at school camp, or pounding the street of Rotorua as a Moari Warden or appearing on stage as "Tina Tuna" and was mother to anyone who needed her.
