Cave Creek
A ninety-minute documentary made for TV3’s Inside New Zealand series.
For the first time on television “Cave Creek: The Full Story of a National Tragedy” examines – blow by blow, in detail the events of April 28, 1995, when a viewing platform on New Zealand’s West Coast collapsed, killing fourteen young people.
A government agency, the Department of Conservation, had designed and built the platform. But no-one was found negligent, no-one lost their job over it, and, for a long time, no-one resigned.
This is the story of what happened at Cave Creek and why.
