Drugs at the Border

Drugs at the Border is a documentary that examines drug trafficking in to New Zealand.

Using real customs and police audio and video surveillance tapes we get a privileged, behind-the-scenes look at the battle to stop drug traffickers.

Through interviews with police and customs officers we learn not just how drug traffickers plan their operations but we are also told of the counter surveillance methods they use to try and thwart the law enforcement officers.

The documentary details the changing face of drug trafficking – how designer drugs like P and ecstasy are now the prime focus of the traffickers.

We also discover that five major drug syndicates are targeting New Zealand, seeing us as a small but extremely profitable market.
