Going, Going, Gone!
The popular reality auction series Going, Going Gone appeals to the magpie in all of us. What is granny’s old camera worth? Is there money in pottery? It’s voyeuristic but interesting and will have viewers rummaging through their garages to see what treasure they can uncover to make a quick buck. Feel for the vendor, get excited for the buyer and marvel at how the auctioneer works the room. Exciting and unpredictable but riveting to watch…
Barney and Adele are hunter gathers from Taranaki. They share a love of hunting; they also share a love of taxidermy. But family comes first for Barney and Adele and when they become grandparents it’s time for the taxidermy to head north to Auckland and to Webb’s for auction. Auctioneer James Parkinson and the Going, Going Gone team travel to “the naki” to see first hand just how many dead animals can fit into a small farm cottage. The auction is hilarious and unpredictable but proves that you really can flog a dead horse…or a least a stuffed lion.
A secret society or a society of secrets? The freemasons welcome the Going, Going Gone team into their mysterious world. Desiree Collins is a co freemason, the order of the masons that includes both men and women. The Dunedin Chapter of co freemasons shut its doors 25 years ago and put their ritual regalia into storage. Now after 25 years of being hidden away these unusual items are to be sold at auction. We are invited into the world of the Masons, and find out what these unusual items are used for and some secrets are revealed.
Join the action at auction with the rest of the punters as the Going, Going Gone cameras follow new, rare and unusual lots through sale day. 5 series produced.
