Kid’s Hospital

Greenstone TV Kid's Hospital

Hope and courage as medics fight to improve the lives of sick children.  Best Information Programme, 2003 Qantas Media Awards.

Kids’ Hospital is a series filmed in the brand new Kidz First Children’s Hospital in South Auckland.   The hospital has been built because too many young lives are being lost to disease in South Auckland and too many youngsters are ill.

Kidz First is dedicated solely to the particular needs of children. During its busiest times – the winter months – it can treat up to 300 children a day through its Emergency Department.  That makes it one of the busiest children’s hospitals in Australasia.

Furthermore, Kidz First isn’t just a hospital. The doctors and nurses from Kidz First are just as likely to be found out in the community dealing with issues like poverty and overcrowding – issues which contribute to ill health and disease.

The Kids’ Hospital series made for TV One was filmed over a four month period and followed a large number of patients and staff.
