Decades in Colour Series 2

In Decades In Colour Series 1, we uncovered a secret history of the way Kiwis lived in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Evolving from a nationwide search for home-shot colour footage we amassed a treasure trove of previously unseen moving images and established relationships with over 800 potential contributors.

The finished series only touched the surface and there are many untapped accounts of the way we worked, the way we loved and the way we played.

Decades In Colour Series 2 now in production will extend and explore its central point of difference: Using personal colour archive and “everyday” Kiwis to provide an “unofficial history”, a collected memory. It is also proposed that it differs from Series 1 by expanding its timeframe a decade either side, to encompass the 1940s to the 1980s across three, themed episodes of Work, Home and Play.
