Auction House

We follow the activities of loveable eccentric Dunbar Senior and his son, Dunbar Junior, third and fourth generation scions of auction dynasty Dunbar Sloane. The series begins with the Sloanes opening a new ‘boutique’ auction house in Mt Eden, Auckland – the ideal venue for selling everything from a classic Porsche to Maori artefacts, colonial furniture and New Zealand art, including yet another of the infamous Helen Clark ‘doodles’.

At the opening party, Dunbar Sr makes a rather large announcement. He is planning to gradually hand over the business to his son and ease his way into retirement. But auctioneering is in Senior’s blood. Just how easy will it be for him to let it all go?

Besides following Senior and Junior through a range of auctions at their new premises, we travel with father and son to Tasmania as they hunt for colonial furniture and greenstone jewellery and encounter some very quirky locals.

Greenstone also filmed 5 series of Going, Going, Gone following Webb's Auctioneers
